About

A little background about the project:

The Englewood Downtown And Medical District Complete Streets Assessment Study that the City of Englewood Community Development Department is undertaking is funded by the Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) grant program.  The funding specifically targets local low/moderate income and elderly populations that have historically been victims of societal health inequities. Some of these inequities have included a relative lack of access to or presence of high quality, pedestrian-oriented infrastructure in first ring suburbs where these groups reside.  The implementation and development of high quality, pedestrian-oriented corridor designs will provide these populations with a highly attractive, safe pedestrian environment that encourages pedestrian movements between and through the Downtown and Medical Districts along the Broadway and Old Hampden Avenue corridors.

About Complete Streets:

Complete Streets policies ensure that engineers and planners design roadways to accommodate all users, not just motorists. A complete street allows pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users and those with disabilities to easily and safely use roads in their communities.
